Hi Form 2,

This week we will look at the transition from Nazi persecution of the Jews in Germany, to the Final Solution during WW2.

We will begin by watching episode 1 of the BBC documentary series, Auschwitz: the Nazis and the Final Solution:

Your homework this week:

Complete the following essay - 'How did the Nazis persecute the Jews during the 1930s?'

We will plan the essay in class, using the following five paragraphs - initial steps 1933-35/Nuremberg Laws 1935/Increased persecution 1936-38/Kristallnacht 1938/Further intimidation 1938-39

Make sure you have a clear introduction and conclusion

Use topic sentences to state the topic of each paragraph

Link your evidence back to the question, e.g. 'This clearly shows that Kristallnacht was a state-sponsored pogrom against the Jews, designed to intimidate and marginalise them in Germany'.

or 'This evidence shows that the first steps taken by the Nazis were designed to remove Jews from prominent and prestigious professions such as the law and the civil service'.
